Who we are
All Saints Anglican Church in Everett, WA is a multi-generational gathering of people from a variety of Christian denominations, traditions and experiences. We are united by our shared love for God and a deep desire to worship liturgically through Scripture, prayer, song and celebration of the Eucharist.
All Saints Anglican Church holds a high view of the Sacraments as well as the liturgical legacy of the Anglican Tradition, especially as it relates to the worship of the gathered church. However, we appreciate and incorporate a mix of modern worship, especially in our music, which is typically a blend of traditional and modern hymns and contemporary choruses with occasional chants. Our weekly services primarily follow the Renewed Ancient Text of the 2019 Book of Common Prayer as used by the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA).
As part of the Diocese of Cascadia within the ACNA, we are connected to a wider network of churches across the country. Our Bishop is Jacob Worley, who was consecrated second bishop of the diocese in February of 2024.
Our Values
- Sacramental (we believe God uses matter-such as bread and wine in Holy Communion-to convey His grace to His Body: The Church)
- Bible/Word-centered (we follow the ACNA lectionary and affirm the authority of scripture)
- Prayer (growing in spiritual maturity as we are formed by a consistent life of prayer, including weekly eucharist, the ACNA daily offices, and personal prayer)
- Familial (we strive to do this by sharing life together as Christ’s disciples)
- Cyclical / Seasonal (we follow the Anglican church calendar out of a belief that periods of fasting and feasting / working and resting promote spiritual health and growth)
- Hospitable (we prioritize frequent gatherings involving drink/food with a pleasant aesthetic in order to foster strong connections and establish healthy relationships)
- Intentional (we are intentional with our programs, services & communication. We do this in an effort to steward the trust of our parishioners & prioritize their spiritual & ecclesial development)
- Equipping of the Saints (we take seriously the Eph. 4:11-12 biblical exhortation to equip the saints for living in a vibrant relationship with God and also to fulfill the Great Commission)
Our History
All Saints Anglican Church owes its existence in part to Bethel Baptist Church in Everett. In 2012, Bethel’s Pastor, Wes Johnson, was challenged to help start a new church in their existing facility within five years. After four years of prayer and discussion, Dr. Barry Crane of Northsound Church in Edmonds approached Wes and other members of Bethel's leadership about establishing an Anglican church. Dr. Crane had previously assisted in the planting of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Edmonds.
Through a series of sovereign occurrences, a team of clergy and lay people launched All Saints Church on Ash Wednesday of 2017. That team included Fr. Kevin and Melissa Craik, Ben and Lei Edstrom, Galen and Joanie Yorba-Gray, and DJ Jackson. In the first few years, Bethel provided substantial financial support in addition to the use of the facilities. Later, All Saints was able to return the favor and provide Bethel with financial support when they needed it most. Eventually, Ben Edstrom, Galen Yorba-Gray, and DJ Jackson were all to be ordained as priests within the Anglican Church, as was another of our members, Cal Popa, a few years later.
In 2018, Father Kevin and his family moved to California due to urgent family concerns. Father Ben had been newly ordained and willingly stepped into the post as Rector. He helped the congregation process Fr. Kevin's sudden departure. The church was further grieved by DJ Jackson’s death in 2019. Later, in February of 2020, one of the first cases of COVID was diagnosed in the Life Care Center in Kirkland, WA where a relative of Lei's was being cared for.
This made for an early education for Father Ben in how to help the church navigate the upheavals of the pandemic. Services were held on Zoom and the needs of the congregation were met as much as possible at a distance. When one sees the many changes and upheavals experienced by All Saints during our relatively short existence, it is a testimony to God’s work in and through this Body of Believers.
In September of 2024 Father Ben and Lei announced that they were being called to plant a church and do ministry work in Idaho.
The Lord has used All Saints as a healing refuge for members of the church who have suffered burnout or discouragement in other settings. He has brought people to All Saints with a variety of gifts and talents who have added to the resources of the church, such as Julia Forsyth with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Father Cal Popa with the youth catechesis. We have seen births, baptisms, confirmations, a wedding, memorials, and many children grow and grow (and grow) into adolescence. All this has been undergirded by a faithful prayer ministry started at the beginning of All Saints' life.
Our prayer is that the good work of All Saints will continue as His Body grows organically. As this happens, we will strive toward a life of prayer and faithfulness to the Lord, love for the Sacraments, and love for each other like family.
